Peter Rabbit 2 now available in gorgeous 4K Ultra HD

Three years after Peter Rabbit first hopped its way into theatres, based upon the classic Beatrix Potter books, the sequel titled Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway has just been released onto 4K Ultra HD, as well as Blu-ray ad DVD, earlier this week.

Peter, voiced again by lovable late night host James Cordon, has smartened up since last time and plays protector of the garden warding off would-be thieves. However, he can’t help but get into trouble when he ventures off on his own joining a rogue group of animals that are up to no good, leading his family to mount a rescue mission.

Margot Robbie also delightfully reprises her role as Flopsy Rabbit, although actress Aimee Horne now assumes the role of Daisy Ridley’s Cottontail. Another familiar voice (and face) is Rose Byrne, who returns in the live-action mother-figure role of Bea, and is seen getting hitched to farmer Thomas McGregor, played by Ex Machina’s Domhnall Gleeson, at the beginning of the movie.

In a rather self-aware twist, Bea — who just happens to be a writer and has a name awfully similar to the author of the source material — struggles with a moral dilemma of whether to sell her stories about Peter for fame and fortune.

The film looks absolutely beautiful in 4K resolution, displaying every whisker and strand of bunny hair in remarkable detail, and well worth the watch in the premium format if possible. Although rated PG, there are some scenes that could potentially frighten little ones, for example one where the animals are fighting, and another showing humans attempting to capture the rabbits.

The movie has a run time of 93 minutes and is available now for purchase at major retailers like Amazon.
