From a car named after a warm beverage to one that represents a few firsts for a nation, here are some fun vehicles that sadly aren’t available in Canada or the United States.

From Japan: the Daihatsu Mira Cocoa

Looking like a smaller and rounder version of the Nissan Cube, the retro-styled Mira Cocoa is a five-door hatchback that, according to Daihatsu, is aimed at women who “pursue a fun and laid-back lifestyle.” Further to its marketing, its name is intended to invoke the “comfortable feeling” that comes from drinking hot cocoa. Available in a range of colours and trim lines, the Mira Cocoa is powered by a small three-cylinder, 58-horsepower engine.

From China: Geely Emgrand EC7

Chinese automaker Geely — which also owns Swedish brand Volvo — has been selling cars outside of China for over 10 years, though it has yet to make its way here. Launched in 2009, the Emgrand EC7 is a large front-wheel-drive family sedan that’s part of Geely’s high-end division. Powered by a 137-horsepower, four-cylinder 1.8-litre engine, it’s available with a five-speed manual gearbox and currently an all-electric version is being prepared for the Chinese market.
