Let’s be honest — shopping for a car is a lot of work. Between finding the car you want, then going around to different dealerships to compare pricing can be stressful and time consuming. Enter Carmigo, founded by the people behind Canadian Black Book, a new online service that is looking to streamline the process.
“When you shop through Carmigo, you build your car online, choose which dealerships you would like to engage with and then salespeople from the selected dealerships will work with you to help you find the best price,” says Carmigo CEO Michael O’Connor. “You communicate through Carmigo without sharing your contact information until you choose to take the next step.”
Electronic correspondence is done through a real-time chat feature, where the various competing salespeople respond with questions and offers. Once you see something you like, you can then choose to reveal your phone number or email to proceed further. The service is free, and there is also a mobile app available for iOS and Android (coming soon) devices.
