Bellingham Festival of Music returns for 23rd year this summer

Like orchestra music? Then mark down the Bellingham Festival of Music in your calendar, playing its way into the Performing Arts Center in Western Washington University July 1 to 17.

Highlighting this year’s event, conducted by Maestro Palmer, will be performances of Requiem by Mozart and Symphony No. 4 by Mahler. Other scheduled classics include:

July 1

Haydn — Overture to L’infedeltà delusa, Hob. 28:5
Schumann — Cello Concerto in A minor, Op. 129 (Lynn Harrell)
Beethoven — Symphony No. 8 in F major, Op. 93

July 5

Verdi— La Traviata: Prelude
Mozart — Violin Concerto No. 4 in D major, K. 218 (Cho-Liang Lin)
Mendelssohn — Symphony No. 3 in A minor, Op. 56

July 7

Calidore String Quartet in recital
Mendelssohn — Quartet in D major, Op. 44, No. 1
Prokofiev — Quartet No. 2 in F major, Op. 92
Tchaikovsky — Quartet No. 1 in D major, Op. 11
