Traditionally, if buyers wanted a less permanent version of car ownership, they really only had one choice — leasing. Now there’s yet another option for those who like to drive new vehicles, and drive them often. Introducing the first premium car subscription model offered in Canada, called Portfolio by OpenRoad.
As with Spotify, Netflix or other similar services, one monthly payment gives the user access to a variety of features. In the case of Portfolio, operating across the Metro Vancouver area, that’s the ability to pilot up to four automobiles per month across nine different luxury brands: Audi, BMW, Genesis, Infiniti, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lexus Mercedes-Benz and Porsche. Several segments are covered including sedans, SUVs and sports cars.
The fee depends on the subscription term — customers can choose between six months ($2,499/per), three months ($2,999) and one month ($3,499). Aside from an activation fee of $750, there are no additional charges for insurance, regular maintenance, roadside assistance, adding additional drivers or even detailing. For those frequent fliers, nothing is set in stone and payments may be paused to provide maximum flexibility.
In a slinky coupe but looking to make a weekend trip up to the mountains? No problem. Make a call and a concierge will come meet you in an all-wheel drive crossover to make the swap with no complicated paperwork to study or fill out. Taken a shine to a particular ride? Stay in it for as long as you like. And don’t stress out about mileage, because there’s a generous allowance of 2,500 kilometres a month or up to 30,000 kilometres a year.
Backed by OpenRoad Auto Group’s extensive network, the fleet is constantly being updated so there will always be opportunities to get behind the wheel of the latest and greatest. For more information, check out the FAQ.
