Vancouver’s annual week-long celebration of all things craft beer returns to the city, jam packed with events now until June 5. This year, local bands will be supplying live music for guests to enjoy while they down artisan beers and great food. Some highlights on the calendar include Forbidden Fruit at Devil’s Elbow Ale and Smoke House on June 1 that will be focusing on fruit beers, Belgians and sours, and the VCBW Beer Festival at the PNE Centre Grounds from June 3 to 5 where over 100 breweries and cideries will be pouring over 400 different kinds tasters.
Vancouver Craft Beer Week 2016 started things off on Friday with an opening night celebration at the Yaletown Roundhouse Arts Centre, featuring CRAFT Beer Market canapés, tunes by Out of Nowhere, and flowing beer and cider from places like 33 Acres, Trading Post, The Parkside, BC Tree Fruits, and many more (personal favourite: the Orange Mocha Frappacino coffee blonde ale by Victoria’s Spinnakers Brewpub). Even the Mayor of Vancouver stopped by for a visit and a few words.
